AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT releases in a couple of weeks and we have obtained the first mining performance results in Ethereum for the latest RDNA 2 graphics card.
AMD Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT Offers 27 MH/s At Stock & Over 30 MH/s When Tuned In Ethereum Mining
From what we have learned, our sources at certain retailers have already got access to the Radeon RX 6600 graphics card and have provided mining performance results in Ethereum using the BETA AMD drivers. Back in August, we got to see how the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT managed to offer an insane amount of efficiency within Ethereum mining, & well, the numbers for the Radeon RX 6600 take that lead even further.
The AMD Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT manages to deliver 27.08 MH/s at stock and just over 30 MH/s when it’s tuned. The Radeon RX 6600 XT delivers around 29 MH/s at stock and around 32 MH/s if it’s tuned. The RX 6600 XT, when tuned, sips in around 55W of power while the RX 6600 Non-XT is stated to sip in sub-50W power which means that you are getting just about 95% of the 6600 XT’s mining performance at increased efficiency. Pulling the numbers at stock and tuned settings, we get the following results:
- AMD RX 6600 XT (Tuned) – ~33 MH/s @ 55W (0.59 PPW)
- AMD RX 6600 Non-XT (Tuned) – ~30 MH/s @ 50W (0.61 PPW)
So you can see that AMD might have another card in their hand that could be viable in building efficient mining setups at a lower price point.
AMD RX 6600 Graphics Card Specifications
The AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card is expected to feature the Navi 23 XL GPU which is going to feature 28 Compute Units or 1792 stream processors. The card will also rock 32 MB Infinity Cache & will feature up to 8 GB GDDR6 memory capacity running across a 128-bit wide bus interface.
The pin speeds will be kept at 16 Gbps which will bring the total bandwidth to 256 GB/s. As per the rumor mill, the graphics card is expected to feature 27 MH/s in the Ethereum mining, and in terms of synthetic performance, the card scores 7805 points in the 3DMark Time Spy graphics test. In the recent simulated performance tests from Igor’s Lab, it is shown that the card would come close to the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. We have also seen custom models leak out a while back that you can see over here.
AMD Radeon RX 6600 series will be positioned as a premium 1080p gaming solution. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT launched at a pricing of $379 US so we can expect a price of around $299-$329 US for the non-XT variant. This puts its right next to the GeForce RTX 3060 which has an MSRP of $329 US but based on the existing market situation, we shouldn’t expect the card to be priced at that range but rather much higher.
